A woman of God

A few days ago, I received an email talking about a woman who is of God.

It was very beautiful. It described a woman of God as being like this and being like that… There were so many things that it took me a while to understand it.

Women of God make mistakes too. They also have flaws and weaknesses.

Sometimes I get emails and comments saying, “I wish I were a woman of God like you…”

The moment you abandon the wrong life and start afresh with Jesus, and do His will and not yours, denying yourself, you become a person of God! A woman of God!

Dear friends, I often ask myself this question: “If they knew the real me, with my flaws and weaknesses, would they still think like that?”

I’m not saying that I’m not a woman of God, but I think you’re being unfair with yourselves for two reasons:

  1. By doing this, you think that being a woman of God is an almost unreachable goal, and that you’ll never make it. This is so wrong!
  2. Without realising it, you begin to think that women of God are perfect. And when you see them make a mistake, you’re shocked and start looking at them in a negative way. It’s so unfair!

I’ll tell you something… I fight against my flaws, my mistakes and my weaknesses the same way you do, but my faith is what makes the difference.

My faith makes me look ahead when I fail; it gives me strength to go on and believe I can change myself or the situation I might be facing!

I fight my battles every day. I fight against my flesh (which constantly wants to take over), my short temper that often makes me feel embarrassed, my way of being sincere that many times makes me sound rude…. This is my battle!

Please don’t put women you admire on a pedestal, making it so hard for you to become one of them. Only the Lord Jesus deserves to be called perfect!

You look at her and think, “I wish I were like her!”

Whoever she is, she’s not perfect. Considering her perfect is an unfair judgement.

Our flaws and imperfections don’t prevent us from being women of God!

Thank you for this post Ms Nanda. And its true many times we look at others with admiration placing them on a pedestal want to be like them. But rather than do that our eye should be on God because no is perfect like you said. We all have mistake and flaws. But if we look to God He will lead us to be women of God.

It took me a long time to realise that its faith and we must used are faith. We all know behind close doors what type of person we are before God so we know if we are a women of God or not. Thank you Mrs nanda, and I love the way you get straight to the point.

Yes, Mrs Nanda. I completely agree with you. If being a woman of God was being perfect, we would all be lost! However as we are seeking the true Perfection we need to be ready to be made anew so we can reflect His image in our day-to-day actions.

Mrs Nanda i love the fact that your just Real. This post makes me understand that my mistakes and my flaws isn’t what tells me whether or not I’m a Woman of God. Ultimately I am not perfect and I have to learn to understand that its my Faith that makes the difference.

Very true I used to and even to a certain extent think that I need to be a certain way to be a true woman of God. When really God wants us to be ourselfs and work on it as this is what a true women of God will do instead of complaining that they are not something that they can never be.

  16.

    Morning Mrs Nanda

Thank you so much for this post because i didnt Look at myself as a woman of God I knew I didnt have to be perfect but I thought I had to be a certain way on a certain level and still would demand perfection from myself.

But as you said from the day I gave my life to God and is fighting everyday to overcome my will I am a woman of God and from today I wont be unfair and put people on a pedal stall.

    Thanks very much

    Good morning..
    Thank you for this post…
Because sometimes I find myself thinking like that.
I start comparing how i should be against my own perception of a woman of God.
It is a constant battle to try and not compare yourself but it’s our faith that’s going to get us to the other side.

Thank you Mrs Nanda, for helping me understand what a woman of God is. You made it very simple to understand.

As you said, we all have flaws, but we are human. It’s expected. But our faith – this gift we all have access to, will help us overcome our daily battles. We just need to use it.

A big kiss and hug from me

This is a great message. I used to struggle before with this notion that I wasn’t a woman of God. I had difficulties understanding because I would look at the other women thinking they are perfect, it wasn’t until I spoke out that I realised we are fighting the same daily battles. No one is perfect, and indeed as a consequence to this way of thinking I was hindering my self from going forward, as if it was an unreachable goal. Thank God someone put it into perspective for me during the 21 days and it was like a new found revelation. I am a woman of God. Thank you for this message Mrs Nanda.

I must admit I thought a woman of God had to perfect, I realized it is the intent in your heart that matters. and your sincerity with God.

  23.

Mrs Nanda, This has been something I was battling with for a looong long time and this post has shown me now how my mentality needed to change.
When we admire someone, we tend to put hem on a pedal stool and make an idol out of them and you are right to say it’s an unfair judgement.
Thank you for sharing! God bless you xxx

Realmente nós seres humanos temos muitos defeitos,
    sem esquecer que ela também é humana;
pois o único que é perfeito é o Senhor Jesus.
Muito obrigado pelo post, me ajudou muito.

  27.

Thank you Ms Nanda for this,

Now I understand what it truly means to be a Woman of God and that I can be a Woman of God regardless of my flaws and mistakes and challenges that I am facing

    Wow, this is so relieving.
You know as we are woman of God web tend to box ourselves and structure ourselves like robots and not allow ourselves to be human. That’s where when temptations come we quickly fall because we portrait ourselves as flawless..

Thank you for this message it made me more stronger in me and in faith

Thank you Ms Nanda, for this message as it’s true and a woman of God is able to understand her flaws and weaknesses and work against them to grow!

    Jessica Fernandes

It is very true what is said here. I used to be like that I epuld judge when ever a women of God did something wrong because I believed that all they did had to be right. Forgetting that they were still human beings like I was imperfect full of mistakes. One thing that helped me stop that is when I learned that those whom speak of the men or women of God are only cursing themselves.

  38.
    Tejumola

This is so true Ms Nanda and there was a period where I compared myself to other women of God such as Prs wife’s and even assistants because I saw them as more prettier than me ect almost as if they were perfect. Since reading this post, and doing the Godllywood challenges I do see them as Women of God to look up too but they also have their flaws which they fight to improve just as I am doing. Thank you for this post Ms Nanda I am still fighting for me to stop comparing myself to others.

Thank you for this message because I often fall into the trap of thinking a woman of God is perfect now I know that faith and sacrifice is the tools needed to become a woman of God. Xx

Love this! I loved that you described what it really means to be a woman of God. We are not perfect but it’s our faith that makes us look ahead and fight to be a better woman. We have to look to Jesus for this change not others.

i agree mrs Bezerra , we have to appreciate every single bit of blessing God give to us but not to be complaicent to conquer more.

    This is very true Nanda!
And I learned something new as well, I didn’t know when we stop doing what’s wrong and decide to follow Jesus and do his will we become a woman of God, I will think that I must to be baptize with the HolySpirit which im still need to do.
But your right Nanda I will always look at them like they’re better and perfect, I will always think I will never reach to them , I repect them and admire them because they help me to find myself, but now I know by faith I can change I can be better person each day, and fight agaisnt my flesh, flaws and weaknesses, and to remind myself that no one is perfect but God and I can do it! 🙂 Thank you Mrs. Nanda ♥♡♥♡

Thank you Mrs Nanda. I admire your sincerity and openness

It’s so true Mrs Nanda and I can put my hand up to this as there was a point in time I also thought like this. But it’s great to see how much those we admire are always looking to better themselves like you mentioned and that is how I must be, always conscious that there is room for improvement.

I loved this post. It’s so true what it says here because if a women truly wants to be a women of God, she will do whatever it takes, just like many have. The women of God who are who they are today didn’t just become women of God overnight nor did they change overnight, it took time, the more they gave the more God would mold them to be beautiful in his eyes. There’s no point in saying all the time ‘I wish I was like her’ because firstly God made you they way YOU are which is different, not similar to others. Secondly, you can be like her by having the same faith she has, having the same relationship with God she has, growing spiritually like she is… but in your own way. This is what I took from this post. Very helpful. 🙂

Boa noite Dna Nanda!!

Thank you for that point Mrs Nanda, most of us women like to compare ourselves with others. And that put us down. We have to uunderstand that God created us all different and unique. Each one of us have something different. What we need to do to become women of God is to give our life to God ; let him mould us, make sure we are listening to his words so from that moment on it will guide us.
